Is 70 a bad GPA?
Although a 70 isn't an ideal grade, it won't destroy your college admission chances. College admission officers look at a whole host of factors - extracurricular, teacher recommendation letters, etc. - not only your GPA. You can still get into a very good college with a 70 in a class.
A score of 70% on a test is generally considered a good result, and can be considered a pass depending on the grading system and pass mark for your specific course.
Grades A–F in the United States
However, there are some schools that consider a C the lowest passing grade, so the general standard is that anything below a 60% or 70% is failing, depending on the grading scale. In college and universities, a D is considered to be an unsatisfactory passing grade.
Grades at or above seventy percent (70%) are considered passing. Students taking high school courses will earn 0.5 credit for each semester grade at or above seventy percent (70%).
1.5 GPA is equivalent to 70% or C- letter grade.
A = 70-100% (good to very good); B = 60-69% (more than sufficient); C = 50-59% (sufficient); D = 40-49% (insufficient).
In standardized tests, a score of 70 might be above average or even in the top percentile, depending on the test's difficulty and the overall performance of test-takers.
The cutoff between a pass and a fail differ by college. At some schools, students must earn a C-minus, or 70%, to pass. At other schools, a D counts as a passing grade. Most graduate programs require at least an 80% to pass a class.

A letter grade of a D is technically considered passing because it not a failure. A D is any percentage between 60-69%, whereas a failure occurs below 60%.
What does F stand for in grades?
The following definitions will be used as a guide for the assignment of undergraduate grades. IN – Work Incomplete. AB – Absent from Final Examination. PS – Passing grade for course using Pass-Fail grading. F – Failed.
The grades of "A" through "D-," "P," and "S" are passing grades, and credit is earned for courses in which they are awarded. Grades of "D+," "D" or "D-," while considered passing for undergraduate students, indicate weak performance.

It depends how many credits are behind your 2.6 GPA. If you had 15 credits yielding a 2.6 GPA, 3 more credits with an F would lower your GPA to about 2.2 (2.166…). If you had 90 credits behind your 2.6 GPA, 3 more credits with an F would lower you GPA to 2.5 (2.516).
As we mentioned, a GPA of 1.5 is below the national average, indicating a low GPA. High school candidates in the US have an average GPA of 3.0, and generally, those who go on to college have even higher GPAs. If you still ask us, “is a 1.5 GPA good” we will say it's not.
Depending on whether your teacher marks on a curve or not, 72% is a passing grade but not a high one.
The grading range between 70 - 79 is decent, so you did decent. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's better than getting a D or F.
B+, B, B- indicates good performance. C+, C, C- indicates satisfactory performance. D+, D, D- indicates less than satisfactory performance.
B+, B, B- Very good, good and solid performance. Normally achieved by the largest number of students. These grades indicate a good grasp of the subject matter or excellent grasp in one area balanced with satisfactory grasp in the other area. performance and knowledge of the subject matter.
Is 76 100 a bad grade?
76% in not the greatest in the world, but its not a failing grade either. letter grade wise its a C.
A grade of “C” indicates satisfactory progress, achievement at an average level, and meeting grade level expectations. It is valued at 2.00 points in the Grade Point Average.
A C is a 75%. If you understand 75% of the material, as reflected by your grade, you are an average student in that subject. A D+ is between a 67% and a 70%. This is below average.
C = Average. This is the basic level that all professors expect of college students. When students turn in C-level work, they have answered all questions at the minimum level expected for competency in the course, but they have not pressed beyond that point.
