Can you visit Berlin Wall for free?

The Berlin Wall Memorial is so much more than just a memorial. Built in what used to be the death strip dividing East and West Berlin, the Berlin Wall Memorial is packed full of information and is completely free.
Prices. Admission is free. Price for tours: €3.50 per person, reduced €2.50 (students, ALG 2 recipients, people with a disabled ID or Berlin Pass).
Admission is free and you do not need a ticket to visit any parts of the Memorial. Both the visitor and documentation centers offer free toilets and there is a small cafe located next to the Documentation Center.

It is illegal to take any pieces of the Berlin Wall - as it is a protected landmark. Anyone caught doing so can face a fine of up to 10,000€.
The Berlin Wall Trail is divided into 14 individual sections to help you plan a bike tour or a walk. Each section is between seven and 21 kilometers long, and you can reach the beginning and end of each route easily with public transportation.

Berlin Wall Memorial

Painted in 1990, it has become one of the best known pieces of Berlin wall graffiti art. The painting depicts Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in a socialist fraternal kiss, reproducing a photograph taken in 1979 during the 30th anniversary celebration of the foundation of the German Democratic Republic.
The exact location where the Berlin Wall Kiss took place is known as the East Side Gallery. This outdoor gallery stretches along the remaining 1.3 kilometers (0.8 miles) of the Berlin Wall, which was preserved after its fall in 1989.
Education and Awareness. Visiting the Berlin Wall helps foster education and awareness of an important period in history. It allows visitors, especially younger generations, to acquire knowledge and develop an understanding of the consequences of political division and oppression.
More than 75,000 people – an average of more than seven people a day – were imprisoned for attempting to escape across the border, serving an average of one to two years' imprisonment. Some of the people who tried to escape were in fact East German guards or soldiers.
101 people who tried to flee through the border fortifications were shot, died by accident, or committed suicide. 30 people from the East and West who were not trying to flee and 1 Soviet soldier were shot or died by accident.
On November 9 the East German government opened the country's borders with West Germany (including West Berlin), and openings were made in the Berlin Wall through which East Germans could travel freely to the West. The wall henceforth ceased to function as a political barrier between East and West Germany.
The Visitor Center and the Documentation Center with a viewing platform are located on the other side of the street that belonged to the western part of the city. The exhibition “Border Stations and Ghost Stations in Divided Berlin” is shown inside the Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station.
There is only about 1.5 km of the original Wall left in total. 1.3 km of the Wall is a collective part called East Side Gallery. The Berlin Wall was heavily guarded
The Berlin Wall was not one wall, but two. Measuring 155 kilometres (96 miles) long and four metres (13 feet) tall, these walls were separated by a heavily guarded, mined corridor of land known as the 'death strip'.
Although there were few crossings at first, more sites were built over the wall's lifespan. Many East Germans crossed the wall illegally by climbing over it, sailing around it, or digging under it, while many others died while attempting to cross.
