The account also took a number of shots at one Maple Leafs fan, going on a long-winded rant defending Marner’s character.
But this isn’t the first time Rocket Security has waded into the fray. Last year, the same account was caught clapping back at critics on Instagram. The comments didn’t stay buried for long. Screenshots made their way to X, where one reply stood out: “Who else steps up in the playoffs? I’ll wait.”
That line alone drew plenty of attention, as it seemed to shift blame toward Marner’s teammates. Another comment hinted that maybe one day Marner could end up playing in Utah, which only stoked the fire.
The tone of the posts left many fans divided. Some appreciated the defense, saying Marner has been unfairly scapegoated for Toronto’s postseason failures. Others felt the involvement of a security firm only made him look more insulated, as though he couldn’t face criticism without a buffer.
