However, using the term 'coincide' might not capture the full significance of this moment. Nuno made the bold decision to start Disasi right away, stepping in for Jean-Clair Todibo, who was suspended. Concerns about Disasi's readiness to compete at this level were voiced by Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, especially given that he hadn't played in a top-flight match since April 2025. Yet, Disasi quickly silenced any doubts with a performance that showcased his skill and authority against the struggling Burnley side.

Teaming up with Konstantinos Mavropanos, Disasi proved to be a formidable presence. His strong physicality was particularly advantageous in dealing with Burnley’s robust players. One standout moment was when he effortlessly brushed aside the towering Lesley Ugochukwu. While Todibo has his own set of strengths, he lacks the imposing stature that Disasi brings to the defense. Together, the two defenders made an impressive 13 clearances in the match at Turf Moor.
This 2-0 away victory marked a significant milestone for West Ham, as it ended a five-month stretch without a clean sheet.

After the match, Nuno Espirito Santo praised Disasi, emphasizing that he was just one part of a well-organized defensive unit. He highlighted the contributions of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and El Hadji Malick Diouf, along with late substitute Ollie Scarles. Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen also made crucial saves after coming in for Alphonse Areola, showcasing the depth and resilience of the team.
"We were solid and exceptionally strong in our area. Axel, Dino, Aaron, Malick, and Scarles did a commendable job in containing Burnley," Nuno remarked.
He continued, "The boys performed remarkably well, displaying commitment, determination, organization, and talent upfront. We scored nice goals through effective combinations, and our clean sheet reflects our proud defensive efforts. I believe everything begins with our defense. If we can solidify that, our talented forwards will shine."
Nuno further praised the team's work ethic and spirit demonstrated throughout the match. Crysencio Summerville managed to score the opening goal in the 13th minute, followed by Taty Castellanos doubling the lead before the half-hour mark. Despite previous struggles where West Ham dropped points from winning positions, including squandering two-goal leads on two occasions this season, history didn’t repeat itself in this match.
"We understood the necessity of starting strong in this game," Nuno noted. "From the very first minute, we were focused and aggressive, recovering possession efficiently and limiting Burnley’s chances. This approach made a significant difference."
